(Via 43 Folders) USA Today: Smart CEOs watch how you treat the staff

This is one of those “common sense” reports. David Wilcox helped to popularize this truth in this song Rule Number One in which he sings of a date that treats the waiter poorly. It’s like those kids that kicked dogs for a laugh…you just knew something wasn’t right.

A true friend…

I don’t mind helping my friends fix their computers, but I have one condition…don’t tell anyone that I’m a “computer guy.” That is not the type of info that I like to spread around. In general, computer problems are a huge black hole in which one gets sucked and crushed. That’s why it is worth blogging that only a true friend will not only help someone with their taxes, but go to the lengths that uber geek Jon Udell goes to when doing the geekiest of all things…data conversion. Tim Bray is right, a PDF to XLS conversion is sick. All in all, I think this is a bad precedent for the geek nation.
