Isaac Newton and Intelligent Design

CNN is running this story: Court rejects ‘intelligent design’ in science class. The short is that you can’t teach Intelligent Design in PA…sad. As I’ve mentioned before, Isaac Newton wrote more about religion than science. Now if Newton showed up in a PA classroom and wanted to teach a science lesson, would anyone oppose? No, I’m sure it would be welcomed. How would the PA families that oppose Intelligent Design react if they knew that Newton, the father of gravity, mechanics, motion, and calculus, also said, “Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who set the planets in motion. God governs all things and knows all that is or can be done.” Would Newton still be welcomed in the classroom, especially if his science lesson included that statement?

It makes no sense. The narrow minded courts and parents have no credibility on this issue.
